About
Annija B.Munck (1994) is a young passionate self-taught artist from Latvia who moved to Denmark in 2013 (and married a handsome dane in 2022, hence the surname).
She fell in love with creating at an early age but first started exploring painting only when being an international in a foreign country became challenging and lonely.
Art became a place where she could express emotions and be herself.
Her love for nature, especially the sea and the sky, is reflected in her landscape art. Where the sky meets the horizon and the smell of saltiness wafts through the air, there is the greatest peace and inspiration.
Until 2023, where something clicked
- can there be something more to it?
That's when she came to realize, that a simple beauty is not enough for her anymore.
'I want an impactful story, a deeper meaning, something moving and powerful. '
She began painting abstract with mixed media and realized it feels more alligned with the story she wants to say through her art.
She wants to tell a story inspired by her own experiences of pain, as well as hopes and dreams for the future.
And connect with you through those stories.
She wishes to evoke emotion and awareness through her work, to inspire and ignite your soul. So you can feel the energy and story a painting owns and transform that into your own perception or experience so that the message can live on and hopefully have a positive impact on your life.
Her biggest wish is for her art to inspire you to be you and live your life on your terms.
Impactful, bold and colorful paintings that awaken the soul, start conversations and hopefully make you feel seen.
Art created out of her intuition and core mission in life.
Come see Annijas new abstract collection, which is showcased on CPH Artspace Exhibition on 29.- 31. March 10.00-16.30 in Docken, Copenhagen.
About Annija’s creative process:
My painting process is very intuitive and I only paint when I’m inspired. The painting ideas come to me through this inspiration, my daily meditation or a random idea from the Universe.
I always let my intuition guide me, I have learned not to push it and what you see on a canvas is a reflection of this powerful energy. My art is brave, full of passion and at the same time – soothing and uplifting.
