About
Annija B.Munck (1994) is a young passionate self-taught artist from Latvia who moved to Denmark in 2013 (and married a handsome dane in 2022, hence the surname).
She fell in love with creating at an early age but first started exploring painting only when being an international in a foreign country became challenging and lonely.
Art became a place where she could express emotions and be herself.
Her love for nature, especially the sea and the sky, is reflected in her landscape art. Where the sky meets the horizon and the smell of saltiness wafts through the air, there is the greatest peace and inspiration.
Until 2023, where something clicked
- can there be something more to it?
That's when she came to realize, that a simple beauty is not enough for her anymore.
'I want an impactful story, a deeper meaning, something moving and powerful. '
She began painting abstract with mixed media and realized it feels more alligned with the story she wants to say through her art.
Today Annija is telling a story inspired by her own experiences of pain, as well as hopes and dreams for the future.
She aims to evoke emotion and awareness through her work, to inspire and ignite souls. The energy a painting owns transforms into a unique perception or experience, and the message can live on and hopefully have a positive impact on ones life.
Impactful, bold and colorful paintings that awaken the soul, and start conversations.
Art created out of her intuition and core mission in life.
Live your life on your terms.
About Annija’s creative process:
My painting process is very intuitive and I only paint when I’m inspired. The painting ideas come to me through this inspiration, my daily meditation, crazy projects, experiences or a random idea on a random day.
I always let my intuition guide me, I have learned not to push it and what you see on a canvas is a reflection of this powerful energy. My art is brave, full of passion and at the same time – soothing and uplifting.
